I don’t think this tree poses a particular danger to pipes and foundations, but almost any tree can damage structures if it is planted too close. Typically, one-third to one-half of the tree’s height at maturity is the minimum distance a tree should be planted to a house, and 5 feet from a sidewalk is the minimum distance.
