Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a 14 year old cedar tree which is healthy and happy. However, it is still looking as if it has been put through for a first prize in how to look inelegant!! It is clumpy and looks like it needs a good stretch to show its charms. All the branches are close knit and it looks nothing like a cedar of Lebanon. Shall I prune it, as I am getting old and would like to see some layering as is the case with much older specimens. The bottom branches are looking almost as they should.
Many Thanks !!

Pruning recommendations are ‘little pruning’. Many times the trees are cleared of bottom branching to allow for walking under.
