caterpillars in buds

I had caterpillars in my buds and sprayed with Bt. It appears I have killed them but the pistols have all turned red. There is still 4 to 6 weeks of growing left. Will the pistols return to white or have I screwed something up?

The buds and flowers may be effected for the remainder of this season.

Providing the plant stays insect free it should return to normal for next season.
