Cannas

Hello, I cut my two cannas 3 inches above the ground in the fall of last year, assuming that I am suppose to get rid of all the old dry foliage. I now see that that was probably the wrong thing to do because they did not come back this year. I never had cannas before. Is there hope that this plant is not lost ?

Cannas are hardy in zones 8-12 and can stay in the ground. In colder zones you will need to lift the bulbs.
If you see not signs of growth, they likely died in the cold.
