Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comAbout 8 years ago we planted a Canary Date Palm near the front of our house. It has grown and developed into a beautiful Palm. Although the long fronds can be managed we are concerned about the development of the root system. Our house sewage drainage pipe is probably about a foot deep and around five feet from the base of the tree. Is the PVC pipe going to be threatened by growth and expansion of the root ball?

This is a unusual Palm for a residential yard. The proximity to your home and sewage system is concerning.
The mature size of this palm 50 to 60 feet hight with a trunk diameter of 4 feet.
I would recommend you have a qualified palm specialist or Arborist examine the palm and the location to your home
You can check with your County Extension Office for a recommendation. Here is a link to help you locate your nearest office.
