Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe have a deciduous Cypress that has spread roots into our lawn. The tree is about 18 years old and very beautiful. We do not want to remove it but wondered if we could cut off the tops of knobby roots in locations causing tripping issues.

Yes, you can cut them off an inch or two below the ground using a pruning saw.
