Can I Prune A Green Cloud Texas Sage Once A Month To Keep Small And Keep It’s Shape?

I planted a Green Cloud Texas Sage in an area where I would like to keep it smaller and not the 6 feet that it can grow to. Can I prune the bush once a month or so to keep it compact and small in nature? Thank you.
