Can I Plant A Magnolia Tree Under A Established Bottle Brush Tree?

I have a small magnolia tree and was wondering if I plant it under a bottle brush tree will it grow with all the stuff that falls of a bottle brush tree

I would not, if it drops lots of litter, constantly. If you can space it a good 10 or 20 feet that would be ideal.
