Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comJust moved into a new house and the purple fountain grass hasn’t been cut back apparently for some time and is overgrown. It won't hurt to lightly prune it now, but wait till late winter to cut it to the ground.
