Can aloe rust affect non-aloe succulents?

I recently received a lovely aloe vera plant as a gift, and noticed it had a bullseye lesion on one leaf. Some friends suggested aloe rust and now i’m concerned it may have spread to another succulent i had near it the same day (a Gasteria). When i noticed it, i put it in quarantine away from everything else, and cut off the affected leaf.
Does it look like aloe rust, and if so, can it affect my other succulent collection? I’m planning on quarantining them both for a month to see if they develop anything else. This is my first disease encounter so i’m very nervous and paranoid, and not sure what else to do.
Thank you!

Many diseases are specific to a genus of plants, but some can affect multiple species if they are close enough in relation. Some will affect a broad range of species.

That looks like it can be controlled. You have already done one important thing by removing the leaf. Next comes treatment. With aloe, this will be easy. Mix in 1/4 peroxide to 3/4 water and water this in once. This should be enough to bring it back to health and keep away any issues. Keep in mind that this treatment is just a little rough, so you might expect to see some stress before it recovers, and grows very rapidly after.

Normally, this issue is brought about by overwatering. Aloe is very drought tolerant and will want to be quite dry for most of the time.
