Calla lilies

Can I just cut back the leaves on calla lilies and leave the bulbs in the ground over the winter? I am in Halifax Nova Scotia. Thanks for the reply.

As the following article explains, calla lilies can only be left in the ground in warm gardening zones (8 and up) and should be dug up in colder climates. Halifax is in gardening zone 6, so calla lily bulbs left in the ground are at risk of being damaged or killed by frost. The article explains how to dig and store the bulbs:
