Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI just bought two pots of Calla lily at Costco “Preplanted bulbs – just add water” it said. When we removed the lid this snow white, rootlike stems sprung out. It looks like something out of a Horror Movie. What should I do?

The bulbs/tubers sprouted before they were sold. Without sunlight, the leaves are white. It’s hard to say whether they can survive. Seriously consider returning them. They packed 5 tubers in an average size pot so they must be small ones and may be depleted at this point. The only way to know for sure is to unpot them and see if the tubers are shriveled, not a good move if you are going to return them. Here is information on how to grow calla lily in containers: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/calla-lily/container-grown-calla-lilies.htm [1]
