Burned tree bark

We had a house fire and the live oak Nearest to our house was charred. We had the tree looked out and it seems fine with lots of regrowth but the bark is coming loose. What should we do?

As long as there is contiguous bark on a tree trunk — and no trunk portion that is without bark all the way around — the tree may recover.
