Brown and Dead Leaves on Yucca

Yucca is huge, 6 to 7 ft. tall, and big around, but the leaves from bottom turn brown and die. Lots of new leaves start turning brown from the pointy end and work itself about midway up. The rest is green, but will eventually die. Plant is outside and is about 5 to 10 years old and is planted in the ground. Never fertilized, and it gets only nature water and full sun. Can you give me any advice?

Yucca plants rarely suffer from any problems and it seems you have had it for quite some time. It is definitely not due to overwatering, but what about too little? If it’s been some time since your area has had ‘natural’ water then you may want to give it a drink. Also, cut away the brown foliage (carefully-they’re sharp) in the event it is disease related, which will help prevent it from spreading.
