Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comAfter this last year’s snow cover, my boxwood bushes have died out in the center. I am wondering if I can just cut them to the ground and see what happens next spring and summer?

If you've kept your boxwoods pruned and shaped, they will tend to become strong and prolific on the outside and form a kind of "shell" of new growth that tends to prevent air and sunlight from getting to the middle of the plant. It might be a good idea to prune the entire bush back by one third, including healthy branches, and cut the dead branches out by clipping down into the healthy part of the stems.
