Borers In Roses

I have 3 Knock Out Roses in my landscaping, I have noticed that the main \”cane\” for lack of better description has no had anything growing on it – upon further inspection it looks as if I have borers, in all 3 bushes. I cut a piece off and its hollow all the way through….the rest of the bush seems to be growing around these main canes but I can only assume that the borers will get to the other canes soon enough…. Is there a way to kill the borers??? Or do I have to watch my roses slowly die. For future reference, what can I do to prevent this in the future? I cut them back in late February each year as instructed by the garden center I purchased the from. Thanks!

It is possible to kill them, but may do more harm than good. Your focus may need to be on prevention in the future. Elmer's glue, actually, makes a really good sealant! Here is an article that will help you with care and prevention:
