Borage is native to the Mediterranean so it likes full sun, loose, fast-draining soil and warmth. It dies to the ground after frost. Borage is grown as an annual but it self-sows if allowed to go to seed. Seed germinates best with soil temps of 50-75F. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/herbs/borage/borage-herb.htm [1]
