Beautiful Plants With No Fruit

My garden for the last 3 years has made some beautiful plants (tomatoes, squash, cucumber, etc.) but they put off little or no fruit. And the plants seem to have small root systems, although my soil is soft and has been amended every year with cow manure and compost. If I get a soil sample, what am I looking for? And how to mix it?

Sounds like you may have a pollination issue (a lack of). Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/beneficial/insect-pollination-process.htm [1] In addition, there could be too much nitrogen in the soil (the soil test will confirm this), in which case you may need to offset that with phosphorus, like bone meal. This will encourage more blooming and fruiting of your plants. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/phosphorus-plant-growth.htm [2]
