Apple Trees

I was given two apple trees as a gift (Honeycrisp and Gala). Do I need to fence them in to protect them from deer, and if the deer do get to them, will their snacking cause permanant damage? Thanks for any info!

Yes, and yes! Deer will destroy anything if they lack other food sources. Fencing is the most reliable option. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/deer/deer-eating-fruit-trees.htm [1]
