Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comTips on taking care of overgrown, unkempt plant. Will the plant die if I trim it back to 2 feet when it is now about 6 feet and very spindly? I acquired the plant from an elderly lady who could not take care of it and someone must have watered it and staked the ‘limb’ as it became too heavy to stand up.

No, the plant will not die if it is trimmed back. It will actually make it healthier and invigorate new growth.
