Am I overwatering my succulent?

I’ve owned this plant for 2 months. When I bought it, they said to water around 2 to 3 teaspoons of water per month. I didn’t water it for a while and the bottom leaves started to look rotted. So I picked them off so it wouldn’t spread to the rest of the plant. Now it looks like the tops are rotting. I have no idea what to do.

Depending on the size of the plant, 2 to 3 teaspoons sounds like very little water.

Though most succulents don’t need frequent watering they can be watered throughly and then allowed to dry out between waterings.
Try not to water directly down the center of the plant, water the soil.

Make sure the pot has drainage and that the succulent doesn’t sit in water.
