Harvesting Pineapple

After pineapple is harvested, what happens to the plant? Do I get more pineapples from the same plant?

Pineapple is in the bromeliad family, and like its cousins, it bears fruit once, then dies. However, you can plant the top of the fruit to grow a new plant. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/children/planting-pineapple-tops.htm ^[1]
