Adams Needle Yucca

I have an Adam’s Needle yucca that I have a hard time making it look beautiful all year. The snow seems to do some damage by flattening/bending the leaves and it takes all year for it to recover even though it does flower. The leaves just stay bent and brown at tips most of the year. I have tried a wooden type cover, but it didn’t seem to help. I do see other yuccas around the state that look much better than mine. I have considered trimming it down to the grow before winter, but not sure if it will grow back? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you

It’s perfectly fine to cut a yucca back, but it’s normally better to wait until early spring to do so – as this will help give it some added protection from the cold.
