Pothos Has Yellow Leaves

Question

My pothos has yellow leaves and also some of the stems are missing leaves on them. . . What could that be?

Aurea, The yellowing of pothos leaves could be a sign of over or under watering. Or either a lack of fertilizer or too much direct sun. I would imagine it’s too much or too little water. AND, since pothos can live in water, I think it’s probably lack of water. If you water the plant, and it seems that the water just runs through the soil ball as fast as you pour it on, I’d wager that the soilball has dried out and pulled away from the sides of the container. This can happen to many plants. All yoou have to do is soak the plant in water level with the soilball overnight. This way, the moisture will get to the center and expand back to its original size. Having taken care of thousands of pothos over the course of 30 years, 90% of the time yellow leaves and vines losing leaves indicate insufficient water.
