5 M Old- Loblolly Pine Suddenly Turning Yellow?

our 5 month old loblolly (10′ tall) needles suddenly turning yellow. We live in a very, very hot and extremely humid climate of east Texas. 100+ dgr days with mid to upper 70 dewpoints. Problem is when u search online for answers, one post can say overwatering, another, not enough. Or wind damage, or its normal. Kind of like a side effect of nausea, well, that can cover almost every illness. Any help would be great, we love our new loblolly “Robert” and are concerned. Finger in soil test feels hot and kinda, somewhat damp. Thank you in advance!!!

This looks to be a case of overwatering, which has led to fungal infection. Make sure to, only, water during drought. Make sure that the soil is completely dry down to about 3 or 4 inches between watering.

Since you are well within their growing range, the climate will have very little to do with their decline, however, if the soil is too compact or has too much clay content then roots can suffocate and rot.

Your best defense will be a combination of fungicide sprays, and biofungicide additives to the soil.
