5 foot tall Sago Palm appears to have died

This plant up until this summer has been very healthy. We had a lot of rain in the late spring to clearly summer, but since has been your typical hot Houston, Texas summer. Is this plant dead? Is it salvageable? Picture attached.

I have seen people prune a struggling Sago Palm that was in similar condition of yours and it had it continue to grow and return to good health.

The heavy rain may have caused stress and root rot. Stressed plants can then become susceptible to insect and disease attack.

You are in a wait and see period.

Here is a link about pruning if you take that approach.
