Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comA groundhog recently ate all the leaves off of my zucchini. I am wondering if the roots are still intact would they survive? Or should I plant new ones? The groundhog ripped off all the leaves and the stems are just open. Thank you for your help.

It’s hard to say. Are there any stems left at all? If the roots are still alive, there is a good chance that the plant may try and regrow, but it would probably be a good idea to do something about the groundhog, as it will only continue feasting on the plants (whether they regrow or you replant new ones). If the plant came back, it may also be weaker, so you’ll have to be more vigilant about pests or disease. This article will offer suggestions for the groundhog problem: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/animals/get-rid-groundhogs.htm [1]
