Q.Zoysia Grass

Anonymous added on March 15, 2014 | Answered

I have seen what appears to be seeds on the tips of grass blades since temperatures are rising. I am confused. I was told that Zoysia does not present in that manner. I value your opinion.

This condition with seeds is called helmet head. It is when the seedling does not discard the seed coat as it should. Normally, it is caused by too little humidity but there are several things that can cause it. It will correct itself, but watering can help speed it along.
