What “zone” is Los Angeles, CA in; specifically, the San Fernando Valley area which tends to be hotter in summer and colder in winter than the central area of the city.

It looks like you are in zone 10a while other parts of Los Angeles are in zone 10b. Here is the USDA map of California:
