Yukka tree

Question

Hello I have just moved into a new home with a yukka in the garden but the old owners have cut the leaves and stalks down the leaves are brown where they have been cut and the stalks have gone black/brown where it has been cut can I bring life back into it will it grow again

It will not regrow leaves from the bottom of the plant.
You can however prune for height.
