Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe had one of these probably over 30 years old and that regularly flowered and grew new stems, to the extent that the overall plant was probably in excess of 15-20 mature stems and several new ones every year!
Regrettably we have had to remove it as we now have 6 grandchildren aged from 6 months to 10 years that visit us and play in the garden – the spikes on this plant can be dangerous to small children.
Having dug up what we thought was everything and re-seeded with grass we now have numerous shoots continuing to grow through the lawn.
Whilst not itself a problem, is there any way we can rid ourselves of these short of digging down several metres again?
thanks
Steve Mattos
