Q.yucca brown spots

Anonymous added on November 14, 2014 | Answered

I purchased a yucca plant two months ago and placed it in a semi-shaded position at my front door. (It does get afternoon sun for a short while.) I have noticed it has started to get dark brown spots on the leaves. I water it once a week. Are the spots going to affect the health of my plant and is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks for your help.

You may either be overwatering or there may be an issue with the roots. Rather than water on a schedule, check the plant on a schedule. Water only if the soil is dry to the touch. If you are already doing this, check the roots for root rot. This article will help with that:
