YELLOWING ROSE CANES

Question

I plant few rose bushes in my home. some of my rose canes turn yellow. I dont know what is happening. There is enough moisture in the soil. I grow them in pots. Now the whole canes are  turning yellow ..Is this due to over watering, high fertilizer salt or soil compaction or fungal diseases in soil???? Please clarify.

The pictures you sent in do not look bad yet as far as yellowing goes. However, the slight yellowing can be a sign of a couple things. It can be overwatering but the leaves will usually be yellowing as well and the foliage currently looks good. So I suspect the problem is that the pots the rosebushes are in are becoming too small and they are becoming root bound. I would transplant them into larger pots to give the root systems more room. Be sure the new pots have drainage holes in the bottoms of them so that water does not pond in the bottoms of the pots. Also give each rosebush two tablespoons of Epsom Salts upon transplanting them. Mix it well into the soils in the pots, water in lightly. Do this once per year and it should help keep the green up and the yellowing away.
