Yellow Leaves Duranta Erecta Plant

why are the leaves on my Duranta Erecta Plant yellow? It was mail order and came with yellow leaves. I thought they would turn green once planted outdoors in sun. The plant is growing very well but still has mostly yellow leaves and only some green underneath. How can I get the leaves green again? Thank you!
