Q.Yellow Gardenia Flowers

Anonymous added on May 20, 2011 | Answered

I purchased a beautiful gardenia bush with lots of buds and flowers on it about two weeks ago. I live in northwest Ohio. No dropping of flowers or leaves, very few yellow leaves, and there is new green growth, but the flowers are turning YELLOW! They were creamy white! Checked the pH and it is 6. 0, water meter says roots have enough or possibly too much water, yet the top of the soil is dry to the touch. It is near a light window, no wind around. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like it could use a little more humidity. You can either mist it daily, or set it on a tray of pebbles with water poured on the pebbles (the water should not touch the pot). This will raise the humidity.
