Q.Y’all Yuccas have fallen over

Zone Zone 8 | Tlsanks added on September 3, 2018 | Answered

My yuccas are approximately 10 feet high. I woke up this morning to find them laying on the ground. Root system seems to be very shallow. Can I tied them up like you would a newly planted palm tree? Will they grow and stabilize them selves again?

Staking them up can help some, but you may have to dig the hole deeper. Also, take care not to let these get overwatered, even when just starting to establish. They can get rot diseases, where the stems will be soggy and flop over.

These will likely lead to the death of the plant if this happens.

If you can include photos, then I will be able to better help you.
