Can I cover a tree wound with plain gauze, no medicine?

You can... Trees are able to adapt pretty well though. depending on the wound... it can heal itself without intervention. If the injury isn't a fully snapped branch it can be healed typically without issue. a snapped branch can be repaired by wrapping if it is still partially attached...
