Worms In My New Sod, Was Gorgeous And Now All These Little Black Worms Destroyed It. What Do I Do?

Builder layed sod, was beautiful but all the sudden it’s brown and looks dead. Noticed all these small black worms. Smashed one and it was bright green as the grass was. There’s a severe infestation.

There is a currently an influx of the fall armyworm destroying lawns across a wide area. We are still uncertain if this is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence of this pest in areas it normally would not invade or if they will return year after year. I would apply an insecticide immediately to rid your lawn of this pest. There are many options available but I would suggest to contact your local garden center or extension service for the best method for your area.
