Q.Wisteria Pruning

The wisteria on my house finished flowering about 2 weeks ago for the first time this year – is it safe to cut it back now as I need to thin it for decorators due to paint exterior of house starting in a couple of weeks, and the wisteria is very thick? Any advice welcome, thank you.

The Asian varieties should be cut back twice a year - winter and in summer. It won't hurt it to cut it back now. The American native variety should be trimmed soon after flowering. Here is more:
