Can the underground roots kill my lawn? This year my lawn is dead. Turned to straw. Plus, the lawn raised up about 2.” Small yard.

Wisteria certainly can become invasive and can choke out plants nearby.
You could do a few test holes in the lawn and determine if the roots of the Wisteria have invading your lawn and are compromising the root system of the grass.
