Q.Wintering over a non-zone hardy plant

Zone 7A | Anonymous added on November 28, 2018 | Answered

I planted our golden dew drop/duranta erecta (zone 10) outside this fall in zone 7A. I covered the trunk and as many branches as possible and wrapped the entire tree in a wind break.

What are the chances it will survive?

There is very little chance for its survival, as this is too far outside of its zone. Your best bet would be to dig this up and put it in container to grow inside over the winter. Otherwise, you might lose it. Here is an article that will help you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/duranta/care-of-duranta-plants.htm
