How often do I need to water roses in the winter in Rancho, NM?

I like to keep an eye on the soils moisture with a moisture meter. Probe down into the soils in three locations around each rosebush. Water as need during the warmest part of the day so that the water will get down well to the root system and be taken up by the roots well. If you have along of windy days, check the soils moisture often as that really sucks the moisture up out of the soils.
