wilting peppers

Why are my green pepper plants wilting? I have three peppers growing in a raised bed garden that has a soil mixture made of 50% composted cow manure and 50% topsoil. All the other plants in the garden (tomatoes, eggplant and basil) are doing well. I planted both jalapeno peppers and green peppers and both have wilted away and died.

They are probably infected with a disease called bacterial wilt. It will affect any plant in the nightshade family, which includes tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. You will probably want to keep an eye on your tomatoes and eggplants just in case.
