Will Veggies Grow On 6 Inches Of Dirt On Top Of Landscaping Material?

The dirt was not worked , so it is compacted dirt. . It is a 9×9, single 12 inch board , raised garden. The area was covered with landscape fabric weed barrier, then six inches of soil . Will this work? Or will it be a struggle?

You can add amendments to loosen and nourish the soil. Then it should be fine.
