Will Sprouts From Old Dogwood Root Produce Pink Flowers

my pink dogwood was mostly destroyed when a tree fell on it. A new tree is growing up beside it now. It did not bloom this year. Same leaves as main tree but more green. Will it eventually have pink blossoms.

As long as it wasn't a grafted tree it should flower as it matures. If it was grafted you may be growing the rootstalk.
