soaking peach pit

Will soaking an outer hard peach pit in water for one week help the inner seed to germinate? It was refrigerated for 3 weeks, eaten fruit. Cleaned outer seed then soaked in water for 2 weeks. Will soaking in water (dropped to bottom of cup) help inner seed to germinate?

Peach seeds also require cold stratification, or storage in the cold to mimic winter, before germination. The 3 weeks the peach was already in the fridge will probably work for this:
