Q.Will Mission Figs in the San Jose, Ca area ripen before October due to warm weather?

Zone San Jose, Ca 95136 | NancyAlsobrook added on August 11, 2019 | Answered

The fig Tree is almost 50 years old and has been very productive. The second crop is well developed. Do the Mission figs generally ripen in the same time period every year regardless of weather conditions. This year is a hot one!
thank you

The heat will not affect them. There are a very few cultivars where they will drop some fruit but this isn't common. I would say that you should see a more prolific harvest. Of course, this will only be the case if the tree is properly cared for.
