Q.Will it help to wrap the trunk of sagos to protect from freezing?

Zone northwest Louisiana | ftlmech added on January 8, 2015 | Answered

It is getting in the teens here in north Louisiana and I need to know if my sagos will survive by wrapping the trunks in burlap instead of covering them. I also have a work light on them to help warm the area around the plants but when I check the temperature with infrared thermometer, it shows 15 degrees at the fronds. Should I cover the plant with a sheet or something? I don’t want to loose them. Please help!!!
