Q.Will Deer Eat Sunflowers ?

Zone 97304 | eikandgolf added on February 20, 2023 | Answered

I would like to plant several kinds of sunflowers. I did not realize there were so many varieties. I’m 100% disabled Vietnam veteran and can’t do much in the yard. Please help me and make some suggestion what might grow well in my zone so the birds will be able to enjoy the seeds.

Unfortunately, deer will eat just about anything- Even if it is supposed to be "deer proof". There are a few plants that will make them less likely to visit the area, though. Planting them between your sunflowers could help, some. This article will help:

Just about any sunflower cultivar should do well in your area. This collection of articles will offer more information on them:
