Q.Will Canna Grow To Full Height The First Year If Grown From Seed?
I have raised three canna from seed over the winter. The three plants have now been placed in a raised bed planted in a soil compost mix for three weeks now. The stocks are strong and good sized with several new stocks emerging. However the stocks are short only about 18 inches tall and one plant is flowering. The mother plant grew to 5-5.5 feet tall. Will the seed plant grow to its original height the second year? The leaves seem to be slightly deformed and wavy on the edges also.

There is a very good chance that it has taken traits from a shorter family member. Likely, it will always be much shorter, but there is a chance that you could see a little more height out of it.
I would test the soil, and make sure that nutrient an pH levels are appropriate.
